After college I decided I wanted to fly, so I earned my pilot’s license in 1980. I heard about the Air Traffic Control field, and joined the FAA, first as a secretary to get in the door, then worked my way into Air Traffic. After working in Flight Service, a part of air traffic control, for 20 years, I just retired from working in long range planning with airports and the FAA. When an airport wants to do a project that affected any of our FAA equipment I became involved to coordinate the work, and the costs.
